Description
Creative Repair or visible mending is the art of repairing clothing and textiles with the intention of the repair being seen, celebrating the fabric and history of the textiles. Visible mending lengthens the life of fabrics, in turn caring for our environment and planet. Creative repair techniques are also excellent to update those garments we all have that just aren't 'me' anymore but too good to get rid of. This workshop will introduce you to a selection of creative repair techniques to inspire future repairs or updating garments that just aren't you anymore. You'll create a series of mini samples exploring a range of creative repair skills. If you would like to bring a garment to repair please feel free, although this is not necessary. All materials are included. Suitable for all levels of experience, including beginners through to the more accomplished embroiderer. A carefully curated gift box will be given to each participant to enable to creativity to continue after the workshop has finished. The contents of each gift box will vary. The workshop will run from 2- 5 at The Weigh To Shop, Durham. The shop will be closed to the public during the workshop. However, you will be able to browse and the lovely products and buy refreshments from the café counter. It's a workshop and private shopping experience!

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your workshop place for a full refund or to switch to another workshop a fortnights notice is required. Cancellations after this date will not receive any refund either in full or part. This is because materials have been purchased and room hire paid for. Should you need to cancel your place with less than a fortnight's notice I am happy to see if anybody on the waiting list is able to buy your place - this will incur a 20% charge for refund costs and admin time. You are welcome to send someone else on your behalf with no fees payable, though I must be informed prior to the workshop to ensure that records are accurate. If I am not informed of this prior to the workshop then the substitute person unfortunately will not be able to attend.
