Silk Shading Embroidery workshop

Silk shading, sometimes called painting with threads, is a hand embroidery technique that combines threads, blending them together with short and long stitches to create beautiful effects. In this whole day workshop you will create your own silk shaded artwork of an image of your choice - you can design your own or use one of the template provided. You will learn - how to transfer your image to fabric (no drawing skills needed!) - silk shading techniques - colour blending - how thread choice affects the look of the embroidery This workshop is for those with some embroidery experience, through to the more accomplished embroiderer. Beginners may struggle with the more technical aspects of this workshop - if you are unsure please do contact me. Each workshop participant will receive a beautifully curated gift box so that the creativity can continue after the workshop finishes. All materials are included. If you have an image you would like to re-create please feel free to bring it with you. The workshop is a ECHO, Saltburn by the Sea from 10.30-3.30. Refreshments are included, however lunch is not. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit one of the nearby cafes or takeaways.
